Finished the paper doll for Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinity!

I’ve decided not to do Booker for this one (maybe I’ll make another of the two of them)…Instead it’s going to be Elizabeth being held by Songbird in the sky. That’s why she looks sort of unhappy, haha.

Wowee, my Moonrise Kingdom paper doll portrait post certainly exploded. I’m not sure who I have to thank for that, but thanks!!!

To anyone who has followed me because of it, or is wondering about it, it’s the first of a series of 4 portraits I’m making for a local cafe called Snakes & Lattes. I’m working on the second portrait right now, so it’s going a bit slow I suppose…but I wanted to say that it will be for sale eventually, just not right now. I will be listing it in my etsy shop when it is for sale, and you can find that here: my etsy shop! but of course there is always the chance that someone might buy it from the cafe, in which case I won’t be uploading it to etsy…but I have scanned in the paper doll pieces so I can print out versions of them and make a smaller portrait with a more simple background.

Oh and just to clarify, not all four portraits will be Moonrise Kingdom, they will all be different subjects…rather random ones at that. I’m working on a bioshock infinite one now, then Dr Who, and finally Aliens (with xenomorph and ripley…perhaps an appearance of Jonesy)

So I need to sell my dolls since I am moving out sometime this year…and I want to have as much funds as possible. It’s hard to get the time in to work on them, so now that I’ve put this one back together I just want to sell her as is. I had planned to make a stand and a hat for her, but it probably will never happen, so there you go. I need to get working on those blythes and just want to get my pullip out of the way.

Basic details: She is a romantic alice pullip, with slight customizations. Firsty I’ve replaced her body with an obitsu 27cm white small bust body. I left her original faceup as it was quite nice, but added freckles, a mole, and more blush. Also did her eyelids a khaki/olive green. All using chalk pastels and sealed in Mr Super Clear matte. Her eyelashes are replaced with brown eyelashes, I also replaced her eyechips to a nice plum colour, the same as her hair (eyechips by coolcat). Her wig is a heat resistant leekeworld wig, in a limited colour…I think it was called misty brown. Her wig isn’t glued on, but held on with velcro that is stuck to her head.

Her outfit is the romantic alice base dress, but I have made it brown and added some brown ribbon details to the hem, sleeves and collar. She has been wearing this dress for about a year, with no staining issues. She also comes with pommepomme bloomers & scarf, azone khaki knit tights, and momoko heels. I had altered the tights to fit blythe, so now they are a bit short in the crotch, but since she’s wearing bloomers over them you can’t tell.

ISSUES: When I transferred her to the obitsu body, I found her head now wobbles and also makes a creaking noise when you move it. Nothing is broken, I’m pretty sure the obitsu body just can’t support the weight of the wig. The body has an inner skeleton and the neck has a joint in it to let it move, and isn’t made for massive heads like Pullip has. I’m not sure if there is any way to fix this, and since I don’t have the time to figure it out, she is just coming this way. It’s not really that much of a problem, at least to me, but I thought I should mention it. (it’s not like her head can fall off or anything) And in fact, all of the joints of the obitsu body are pretty creaky, i think that’s just how they are…

I’ll throw in a stand, but it’s not her default stand, it’s an obitsu translucent grey stand. But hey at least it’s something?

I’m asking $250 + shipping (I’m in Canada)…if you’re in Toronto and want to pick her up locally let me know, I am open to that.
I need the money a.s.a.p. so I’d prefer not to take holds or layaway on her, it’s first come first serve. Payment to be made by paypal.

I want to say something exciting but I don’t want to jinx it because it’s not totally official yet. But things are looking up!

In other news, today I handed out a bunch of resumes and am actually going for an interview tomorrow morning!

Everywhere I handed out resumes was in my local neighbourhood, so I really hope something pans out. The furthest place I applied to is a plant shop, which is just a pop up until the end of June, but I love gardening so it would be fun working there. Ahhhh I really hope something works out!

Wow I so do not want to shower, get dolled up and go hand out resumes today. I just want to roll around in the dirt (fixing up my garden).

I bought my tomato plants yesterday and this morning an animal had dug up one of the little pots! Of course it was the tomatoes I’m most excited for…indigo rose, a totally black tomato. I think one plant is ok, the other is still wilted, but I think it just needs more time to recuperate. Hopefully that doesn’t happen again tonight? Maybe I’ll bring them inside for the night. II’m not planting them just yet.

Dolls are all done! Now I have to go buy paper for the background (either the beach or meadow scene? Not really sure how I’d make grass out of paper though…we’ll see), and make a banner. I’m not sure what to write on the banner…I just want to do the title, really. I don’t think it’s terrible to just write Moonrise Kingdom?

I have also scanned all this stuff in, so I can offer cheaper portraits! That way I don’t have to draw them out every time. Just print, cut, and pin together…whoopee! Of course, the original will be for sale too. But for more money.

I sure am! Snakes & Lattes only gives me the space, for free, and any interested people will have to contact me directly, S&L will not be doing any sales on my behalf. And if I do end up selling something, I keep 100% of the profits!

And the other reason I wanted to do 10&11 was to avoid the companion issue, haha. I didn’t think they looked as…iconic/recognizable as the doctors (of course people would know who they were, but I guess I mean their clothing and overall look wouldn’t be very interesting in a paper doll). Also some fans seem to really hate certain companions so I just wanted to avoid all that stuff. I think I’ve decided to go with the 2 doctors together!

So now that my craft show is over, I just remembered I have to get started making 4 portraits for Snakes & Lattes! Haha.

I’m going to make the Moonrise Kingdom one first, but I’m trying to get my ideas straight for the other three. I’d like to do an Alien one (Ellen ripley & xenomorph), bioshock infinite (DeWitt, Elizabeth and Songbird), and finally a Dr. Who one, which I’m having a bit of trouble with cause I’ve never watched the show. (Ha). Maybe I should just take the time to finally watch it…but if I don’t…

What should my composition be? I wanted to do the Tardis and the 11th doctor because I think his outfit would translate to drawing better (maybe I just like drawing suspenders), but could I draw both 10 & 11 together? Would that be acceptable? They are currently filming that special where both of them will be acting together, so maybe it won’t be so bad…thoughts?
